The charming historic setting for a tavern and inviting restaurant right in the heart of Stony Brook. Strolling about the grounds as you enter, you can easily envision an outdoor wedding in the garden or a delightful lawn party. Inside the floors, walls, and setting speak to the heritage that surrounds this location. Events abound here including a 7-Course Tastings on Friday's, annual Pig Roast August 23, and more. We celebrated Father's Day here with a delightful Brunch. The Chef here worked his magic bringing both traditional breakfast favorites and choices like Prine Rib, Jumbo Shrimp (Which at the commencement of our seating ran out, so staff were dispensed and they produced enough shrimp to satisfy all the hungry appetites. The Maitre D'/Hostess, Jennifer, (hope I got this correctly, gracious woman with dark hair and eyes, petite stature) made sure to communicate the shrimp was on it's the way. And all the staff were accommodating and attentive. Certainly A+++ for customer service. I left thinking, sure wish I had my wedding here! The foods were displayed nicely, deliciously prepared and offered many choices in meats, salads, fish, both hot and cold preparations. The dessert table was delicious and in keeping with the Lessings high standards for taste. If you have time to visit Stony Brook, do put Mirabelle on your itinerary. If you need to stay over, you are in luck as the Three Village Inn is part of this beautiful property. Enjoy the views and lush landscapes. Don't be surprised if a groom rides up on horseback as it sure is within keeping of the fairy tale spirit here.
