So, I ve never been to New Orleans, but I imagine that it would be similar to this restaurant. That being said, if you are looking for Southern comfort food from the bayou, you are in the right place. The staples here are the jumbulaya and their Bourbon Blue burger with blue cheese (hence the blue). Of these two, I ve only had the burger, and it definitely lives up to it s reputation. However, I did order it without the mushrooms. All of the seafood dishes I ve had here are excellent and fresh, including the calamari, shrimp and grits, and La Victoria Perch entree. The cornbread with spiced butter, filet tips, and cheesesteak egg rolls are also killer, and the fries are always on point. My only two gripes are these: 1. Don t get the chicken quesadilla (this isn t a Mexican restaurant people) and 2. The gumbo is much to be desired. This dish lacked flavor, heat, and substance, which was very disappointing given that they are supposed to specialize in this type of cuisine! Anyways, maybe next time I ll venture out of my comfort zone and try the alligator sausage quesadilla (um yum? I heard it tastes like chicken and fish...). 4.4 Stars. Xoxo foodie girl
