WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I went here back in 2019 for advice about getting into third level education. I still have not forgotten the terrible experience I had there meeting with an older female with very short grey hair who was supposedly a guidance councillor, her name which I cannot recall (she was from the information and guidance service). At first she seemed welcoming enough and even mentioned that her daughter was studying nursing I believe just like I wanted to do. I was enthusiastic about getting back into third level education and made that quite apparent and was considering studying general nursing. I also discussed with her some of the student grants and financial funding that I could possibly avail of as an Irish citizen which she abruptly interrupted with, "you can't apply for everything", and that "the government hasn't got money to be handing out." I am coming from a socioeconomically disadvantaged background and trying to make a better life for myself by getting a degree so I can have a stable, comfortable income and eventually pay all the money I receive from government funding back in taxes from my future career. It seemed as though there was a slight bias/jealousy in her mind because she of course had to probably pay out of pocket for her daughter's education while mine was mostly being funded by the government. I don't want her to ever shame another person for wanting financial help to get them through school and this is what has prompted me to write this review. She was also very condescending! She treated me as if I wasn't capable of getting a degree by saying something along the lines of, "You do know you have to get good results to get into and stay in these courses," as if I wasn't aware of that. I have done a level 5 course in Health Care Support and have achieved all distinctions in every module and have been offered the course I wanted to do at the university of my choice. This woman's behaviour needs to be addressed immediately! I am extremely disappointed that this is the type of person this establishment has hired to help encourage and shape someone's future in Ireland!
