I will say that I did feel relatively safe during my stay here. That's about all that I can say. First of all, the food was horrible, but that's not even close to my biggest complaint. All I really did was color and watch TV. I was only here for a few days, but multiple times the staff either didn't care enough or weren't organized enough to even bother running groups. On my first evening, I was expecting my family to visit (from out of state) during visiting hours. They showed up at the front desk in time for the hour, but the lady at the front desk told them that I had been transferred to a different unit and that visiting hours were already over. This of course was not true. In the meantime I had a panic attack because everybody else left to see their family and I thought that something had happened to mine. The nurse told me to just calm down but offered no assistance nor did she offer me my usual medication that I take for panic attacks. By the time that the staff sorted out the confusion, the hour was almost up. The psychiatrist told me that my local psychiatrist was just putting me on medications that she "pulled out of her sample drawer" to make money. They insisted on me staying for 5 days, even though I explained several times that I was not a danger to myself or others, and that my family would be with me to monitor me for the weekend. Finally, when I was discharged, they sent my medication to the wrong pharmacy. We spent two hours that evening trying to sort it out, called the facility several times and at one point was told by the nurse in the unit that since I was no longer a patient she just didn't have time to deal with my problems (Not even an exaggeration). Even if I have mental health problems again, I will not return to this facility, and will be finding another place to seek treatment. Overall it was just a horrible and stressful experience. I am not usually one to write reviews like this, but I definitely would not recommend this place.
