On arrival at the terminal, all flight passengers ...

On arrival at the terminal, all flight passengers were led through the corridors like a horde of sheep, you had the constant feeling that you shouldn't make any wrong movements as you passed the security guards everywhere. The baggage claim in the otherwise empty airport took over an hour. Really surrounded and keenly eyed by armed cops, a security officer let a sniffer dog run across the baggage belt several times and sniff all suitcases. If you consider that these pieces of luggage and their contents have already been checked in detail in Frankfurt and then observed this overcrowded circus, the feeling that you are particularly welcome as a foreign exchange broker in Canada faded away. Even when we left, we were rudely and impatiently ordered around in the security area by a mumbling security officer.
Halifax-Stanfield Airport is called "International" Airport, so the staff should do their utmost to speak to international travelers, speak more clearly and behave professionally if unfamiliar procedures are not immediately understood.
Another minus point: the gate was opened too early on departure, so that the majority of passengers had to wait for minutes on the wobbly gate bridge. The bottom line is that there is a lack of tight organization at all corners and, above all, the otherwise familiar and highly valued Canadian friendliness and helpfulness.
