Melinda Peck Review of JW Marriott Resort and Spa

This place is rated well for all the available amenties. The service is above average but not 4.5 star. It took us 2 days, 4 calls, an in person visit just to get an extra blanket...We also had issues with housekeeping bothering us several times one day. They apparently thought we were checking out that morning. Even though we had spoken to someone about keeping the room we were in another day TWICE. Once at check in and then AGAIN that very morning...Our key didnt work that afternoon either which posed yet another issue. They gave us a non walk out balcony at first as well. We had paid extra for the walkout. So we had to switch rooms from the get go. That was fun. Check in itself was another ordeal. Just be prepared. Its busy and its a long wait. If they tell you your room isnt ready but that you wont have to wait in line again? Dont believe it. You will wait in line again to get your key. The pools and grounds are stunning. The water is warm. However, the water has lots of leaves and mulch in it. Its also crowded. There are not always towels for the guests either. The reason being; some guests wake up early, take all the available towels and put them on chairs to save a spot. Even while they arent using the facilities. There needs to be a better system in place where this isnt allowed. Its not fair for the people using the facilities at the time. I cant speak for the food or restaurants. We didnt eat at the resort. I can tell you it was busy and it was expensive. The Starbucks is only a perk if you feel like waiting in line for forever each time. The employees did all seem nice at the hotel. That was a plus. So was the large tv and balcony (minus the hornets nests and dirt). I also didnt feel the linens and room were exceptionally clean or high quality. The main mattress was comfortable but had stains under the matttress cover. I know this because the sheets wouldnt stay on the bed. One of the pillows smelled a bit funky. One of the towels wasnt clean. The extra couch bed blanket had a red drop on it that looked to be blood or nail polish, not sure which. If you call down to the front desk be prepared to be put on hold for a long time by the way. The housekeeping team was nice but it was hard to communicate with them. I know it sounds bad but all in all, we had a nice time. We felt safe and the kids enjoyed the pools etc. The good outweighes the bad here. I just want people to be aware of these things ahead of time so their expectations arent what mine were. Mine were too high and I'm not sure if I'd spend this kind of money to stay here again. I've had better.
