My brother, his family and I atayed here for a couple of nights as a treat after a few weeks on a driving holiday across a few states. We were all looking forward to a plush hotel experience to round out our vacation and unfortunately came up a little short.
Given the price we paid, we were disappointed.
The staff at the concierge and bell desks were awesome. It was he check-in experience and subsequent issues that were really sub par. I felt sold to. No free WiFi unless you sign up to Accor hotel program OR pay a "Destination Fee". The check-in staff's explanation of no free WiFi and the "Destination Fee" just didn't make sense despite my numerous questions. I got out of paying the "Destination Fee" and ended up signing up to Accor just to get the free WiFi.
The free WiFi, by the way, didn't work first time round as Accor's text with the bitly URL to complete my enrollment didn't work.... I had to call reception from my room to help with that.... Which I couldn't do as the phone in my room didn't work... So they sent an engineer up to do that after I used my mobile to call the hotel's reservation line
I was, however, please to see the hotel has Google Chromecast available. BUT, that didn't work for me either despite calling the Streaming.tv helpline. They were unable to help. I got it to work myself after a few attempts.
My brother and his family had their own struggles. They had to call reception 5 times to get a crib delivered to their room for my little niece. As compensation for the wait, the hotel offered an in-house movie at no charge to keep my two nieces entertained. That was nice.
But, to really round out their stay, upon checkout, my brother saw that the hotel had charged him $USD20 for the "complementary" movie AND the aforementioned "Destination Fee" (the fee in my brother's case was not explained at his check-in unlike my check-in experience). He didn't pay either of these charges.
On the upside, Steve at concierge organised a rose to be sent to my brother's room for his wife as it was her birthday. She loved it! The rooms are very comfortable and really well appointes. The LeLabo products in the room are awesome. The robes are really plush too.
My advice: when you check-in, make sure you are not jetlagged/hungover. Make sure you are really clear about what you're paying and ask questions. Be prepared to sign up to Accor to get WiFi (which is nuts when I stayed in roadside motels in Oregon that had free WiFi)
William at the bell desk and Steve at concierge are legends. Love those guys.
