Amanda Krause Review of Full Sail Real World Education

I am a current online student, well over a year into the Full Sail Internet Marketing BS program. I decided to write a review to help potential students make the right choice for their future.
The program is expensive, however it is accelerated, very focused and includes the cost of all of the hardware, software and materials you will need throughout the program. If you went to a traditional 4 year program, you would likely have the same debt, especially since you have to purchase your own computers, software, materials and books.
My one note of advice is to be certain of your career path. I worked in the Internet Marketing industry for a decade prior to starting this education, so my previous experience lead me to the path of attaining a degree at Full Sail.
I would never recommend this program to someone coming out of high school with no industry experience, as it leads to unrealistic expectations, which seems to be the subject of many complaints. The education alone is not going to land that big job. In many fields, especially mine, experience is just, if not more valuable than the education. I chose the education path to give myself the educational edge and for the continued education benefits to grow my career and keep my skills current.
Full Sail provides a lot of tools and opportunities to network and market yourself (which I seldom see students use) and herein lies the value. You get out of it what you put into it, with or without industry experience. If you are truly passionate about the career path you have chosen, Full Sail is a great choice to solidify that passion, even if you are just out of high school. If you are still undecided, start out and get your General Education credits elsewhere until you find your passion. I didn't find it until I was in my 30's.
The curriculum is very fast-paced and very focused. Most of my professors have been fair and all have been knowledgeable, but like any college, they are hit-or-miss.
I have enjoyed my experience with Full Sail so far and it is easy for me to attain while working a full-time job and I don't consider it any kind of interference in my life. I also did not have any problem with registration, grade transfers or otherwise. I also had no problem requesting a digital transcript for my records.
