I used this firm for my divorce. They were extremely expensive and I thought I would've gotten a certain level of expertise, professionalism, advocacy given the cost of the billable hours. I was wrong. I ended up with a worse case scenario as far as my property settlement then I had going into it and hiring them. I also had issues with Fran in billing and repeatedly asked her to show me a rectification which was refused. I felt I was over billed and they didn't respond to help . They had the most antiquated accounting system I have seen in a very long time.... In addition, Some of the staff was rude and non responsive. Glenn Cooper is a superb Attorney if you need someone in a courtroom and you can put up with all the other issues as mentioned . My opinion is that most cases settle and then you're wasting your money using this firm at $500 plus an hour.
My divorce was finalized in 2014 and I recently had an issue relating to my property and settlement agreement. I contacted several firms to assist me since I was not happy with Paley and Rothman as outlined above and they all told me I should just go back to the original attorney because it will be much more cost-effective since they have all of the paperwork, etc. I took their advice and contacted Mr. Cooper many times. I believe he may have responded to one email and ignored all of the others even though I told him it was urgent and asked for a reply. I asked for a price for him to write a letter for me to rectify this current situation and he just ignored it. I find that not only outrageous and completely aggressions but totally shows me they are just all about the money and could care less about their clients which I thought all along. The day that I arrived to have my first meeting with this firm there were several people outside protesting warning against using them and talking about a horrible divorce situation they ended up with. It made me get a little bit of anxiety when I saw that and in hindsight I wish I would have turned and walked away. I wouldn't Recommend them. I also told Mr. Cooper they should have therapists on staff, since clients are often going though a difficult time as in divorce and their employees and their attitudes make one feel worse, their lack of any empathy, sincerity, kindness, or compassion fuels an already lit fire in a negative way. If you use them they demand big retainers and you'll end up Just paying the bill even if it's not adding up according to your records, good luck getting an accounting, their system is so pathetically antiquated they can't even figure it out. Run don't walk .....
