Empire conducts business in a way that I can only describe as sketchy. They frame the whole process of coming to your home as more convenient for the customer, when it reality, it is definitely a way for them to only show you a very limited selection of specific types of flooring, and to make it harder for you to walk away from their bad deals, since they are in your home. Our salesman was a very nice man, but he vastly overestimated the square footage needed (waste should be 10% and he was estimating 25-30%), and he would show us 2 types of carpet at a time, and then keep going out to his car to get just 1 more each time. If you are shopping for flooring, go to an actual store so you can feel all the different types and compare them. We only got to compare 4 types with Empire.

They claim to have amazing sales going on, but all that means is that their normal prices are 3-4 times the industry rate, and then they take 60% off. It is a scam. We were getting insane rates for 850SF of carpet (I m talking $12K as their normal price but on sale for $6K). They won t give you a price per SF, just a total, but if you can do math, you can figure it out. No sane person would pay $6-7/SF for carpet; at those prices you can get hardwood at other stores. In conclusion, save yourself the frustration, time, and discomfort of having to ask someone to leave your home when they keep pressuring you to sign up, and go to a locally owned carpet store in your area instead.
