Extremely disappointed! We went to Griffin because we had a great experience buying our son's first car on the bargain lot. Unfortunately the new sales experience was not so great.
Picked car out on a Monday evening and had agreed to come back Wednesday or Thursday, depending upon when the financing paperwork came in from our Credit Union. Called the Salesperson Thursday to confirm we would be coming in that evening; had to leave a message.
Nothing was ready, vehicle protectant had not been applied and they were missing the second key, manual, door code and front license plate frame. They really seemed to be making a sincere effort to make it right, got the protectant applied, found a manual and gave me a slip to come in for the rest, at this point I was still ok with the experience and excited about my new vehicle because they seemed very sincere and I trusted they would take care of everything.
The day before my scheduling appointed to get everything taken care of a second set of license plates arrived in the mail from Griffin with no explanation and they didn't have any stickers.
I looked up the plates through DMV and found that the ones on my car were not in the system, so I had been driving for almost two weeks with unregistered plates.
I called 5 times and was not able to get anyone on the phone even after explaining my concern to the person triaging calls. I left messages for two different managers. The one that was in that day was there when I arrived, but apparently didn't listen to the message I had left for him three hours before. Frankly up until this point I was still fairly calm and not too frustrated, I still thought they were concerned about customers and would make it right. However it went severely downhill from there. He didn't seem to want to be bothered and the one person he asked to assist me said they were to busy with a call. They were clearly not busy but had an attitude of not wanting to be bothered to assist me.
The visit was capped off with the manager asking me to not give them too bad a grade on the survey because it takes a while to make up for a bad survey. He didn't' make a very graceful exit from the conversation, leaving an extremely negative impression. No sincere apology, no service recovery.
