The El Sawy Culture Wheel is considered the first ...

The El Sawy Culture Wheel is considered the first and most widespread private cultural center in Egypt today and is considered a model for cultural entities in the post-governmental era. The center is located on the island of Zamalek in Cairo.

El Sakia Mohamed El Sawy created the son of the Egyptian writer Abdel Moneim El Sawy in 2005 and the name is drawn from the five-wheel El Sakia, which is the most famous work of his father. He began thinking about creating a creative cultural center that includes all kinds of arts and literature, attracting different layers of the public. The place was chosen under the 15th of May Bridge on 26th of July Street in front of Central Zamalek - and it can be reached from in front of Al Balalon Theater by crossing the bridge and going down the stairs directly to El Sakia

Muhammad Al-Sawi designed the project, started building it, and conceptualized the access methods he had developed for the center with the assistance of other colleagues. The center started conducting concerts to attract the public, considering that music and singing are the most widespread arts among the people, and they had diversity and different from the prevailing music at the time.

After that, many other activities were introduced to the center, and he began the work of plastic exhibitions and displaying sculptural works. Then he started presenting poetic evenings through concerts, then presented separately on special evenings. El Sakia recently organized a festival inspired by the idea of Okaz Poetry Market under the name "Okaz Poetry", and poets from various governorates of Egypt participated in it and it lasted for three days.
