Jarred Leverton Review of Microtel Inn and Suites
Excellent affordable hotel. The wifi works flawles...
Excellent affordable hotel. The wifi works flawlessly (unlike some cheap hotel/motel wifi that barely picks up outside the lobby). The staff are friendly, willing to answer any questions you might have. No one seemed short or put off, like the staff in some cheaper motels.
The rooms are great, featuring a full bathroom, Kitchenette, and either two beds, or one bed and a "living room" area with a sofa. Very cozy, almost like a little apartment. Great for extended stays. And they are kept fairly clean. The sheets may have the occasional (small) stain, as they aren't likely to throw away good bedsheets for every guest like a luxury hotel can afford to do, but nothing in the room ever feels dirty or questionable. Very high cleanliness levels.
The free "breakfast" is indeed a simple affair, consisting of free coffee and juice (apple or orange) and some fruit and donuts (from Dunkin Donuts down the road). But it's certainly nice enough, and for the price you pay for the room, it's hard to complain. The hotel is conveniently located near several restaurants if you would like to eat out instead. The built in kitchenette (microwave, Fridge, and sink) also makes preparing simple meals in your room relatively easy, and Wegmans is located just down the road.
And finally the location is excellent as well. While Chili is convenient for shopping and dining out, while being quiet and safe, make no mistake, you can reach the city of Rochester proper in mere minutes. Chili Ave/ Main street runs straight into the heart of the city, with freeway access to the surrounding area branching right off of it. In fact, Nick Tahous is a straight shot down the road. There's nowhere you can't get to with relative ease from this location.
I will certainly be staying again.
