I used to think Alconbury was closed because there is a streetname with Alconbury but this RAF base is very much open. The Fighter Jet is the Gate Guardian which would normally be found inside the grounds but has been placed outside to benefit the general public; this plane is next to the church on the hill (the reason for the picture of the church).
