Picket Fence Properties - How do I describe this company.

Brandy, the rep we first met up with, was awesome and kind. However, the owner of Picket Fence who happens to be highly involved, Theresa is probably one of the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.

My wife & I moved in there prior to getting married, we were trying to stay traditional and then once we married, I was going to move in there with her; however, the few times I stayed the night.

VANDALISM occurred. Over $10k worth when all was said and done.

Upon reaching out to speak with Picket Fence I had to speak with Theresa, where I was accused of vandalizing my own vehicle and told that they didn't owe us anything.

When we asked for security, she said we should just move out, she encouraged it. Even when we said, we'd like to put up our own security, she said they wouldn't appreciate that and the other neighbors wouldn't either so we should just move out.

We reluctantly agreed.

I cleaned and cleaned the place, sent an email requesting information on if we had to clean (professionally) the carpet, no response (response and communication is awful) since we had only lived there TWO WHOLE MONTHS.

Of course, we move out, and I request the deposit which was double the rent (first time this has happened to me) $1400. Especially on a lower budget housing location.

I get a call from Theresa, first sounding nice then she informs me that she had to have the place professionally cleaned, I asked why, "What you think the place magically cleaned itself? Do you have a Genie in a bottle? The place was filthy!"

(the photos below were taken before we closed the door for the last time)

I ignored her sarcasm and explained how we had cleaned, swept, vacuumed, mopped, wiped down everything etc...

She said that she had found crumbs and that it wasn't acceptable! I tried to explain to her how crumbs wasn't a reason to charge someone for their deposit and that with how well we took care of the place, especially after two months, and over $10k worth of vandalism, how I felt it was petty to want to charge me for professional cleaning over crumbs.

The conversation deteriorated, as she jabbed at me repeatedly, about my job (i'm self employed) - mocked me about where I was living (with my parents before I was to move in with my wife, it made sense to me to segway) and how she wished me luck with my "successful business".

Well, I got the bill today and sure enough, $130sh give or take dollars were charged to me for professional cleaning for a place that's about 450 square feet. Perfectly stained carpet in a very small room, for the old stained blinds, and for the crumbs. Reading the report it said the floor had a sticky spot? I actually hand mopped the ground to ensure that every spot was smooth, dry and clean of debris.

Sure, it's only $130 - but with the harassment, the $10k of damage to my vehicle, the drug dealer in the location (could be a good thing for the right people) it wasn't worth the low amount of money.

Theresa continued to tell me how she was doing me a favor by letting me out of a location that was literally unsafe for me to be at and had no obligation to due so. I should be grateful she said.

She told me that if I wrote this review she'd retaliate with my walk through list. I don't see a problem with that.

Bottom line, Picket Fence isn't a good company because the owner is unfortunately unstable and unprofessional, loses her cool when your stuff gets vandalized and you definitely can't make any requests on security. And even if you clean the place spotless, spend hours of your time, they're still going to steal your money.

Ethics is everything to me, and this business, because of Theresa is unethical.
