My husband and I stayed at the Manhattan Hotel from January 1 - 3, 2021.

We had a VERY unpleasant experience while staying there, namely:
1. Have to wait for check-in for +/- 3 hours due to long queues and after getting a room, we still have to wait for the house keeping staff to clean the room.
2. The bed sheet is stained / not clean and smells musty on the first night of stay
3. The bed mattress, even though the King Koil brand is not good, maybe because it is old, it can be seen from the yellowing color of the mattress.
4. No hot water for showering. Only lukewarm at most.
5. The bath tub is dirty so it must be cleaned before use and it also leaks.
6. When we needed a connector for electricity on the first day, we were promised to loan it but until we checked out, it was never provided.
7. TV channels are not clear even though Cable TV.
8. Wifi connection is slow.
9. On the second day of our stay, we had some business going out. Before leaving the room, we had contacted the House Keeping to clean the room and replace the musty-smelling sheets. WHEN WE WERE BACK 5 HOURS LATER, THE ROOM CONDITION IS STILL THE SAME AS WHEN WE LEAVE. The new house keeping came 20 minutes later, even then after I went down to Reception to complain.
10. When cleaning the room, the House Keeping Supervisor does not use a mask as a health protocol even though my husband has reminded him.
11. At breakfast on the third day, we had to clean the table ourselves because there were no employees who could help. After we asked, that day there were only 5 people on duty.
12. At the time of submitting a complaint on the second day, we were served by a person who claimed to be the On Duty Manager but if seen from his attitude he was not like the manager in general because our questions were mostly answered by the receptionist who participated in the poll. He ONLY apologized and that was all we got until we checked out the next day and met the On Duty Manager that day. Apologies for any inconvenience we have experienced.

We understand the current condition is a lot of employee savings. But when we checked in, we saw that almost all of them made bookings via travel agents / on line, meaning that we ordered beforehand, not walk-in. So the hotel should take it more into account. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED with the service of the Bitntang 5 hotel but the standard of service was way below its star.
You should think again about staying there.
