Although it had been nearly three years since my mother passed away from ovarian cancer, the grief is still so intense. Fortunately so is my gratitude to NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center and Dr. Gajewski. My mother's disease was not curable, and a visit to Duke confirmed that NHRMC was administering the same treatment regimen she would have received at Duke. She was able to fight as long as she could with a doctor and staff who were fighting just as hard to save her life. She felt cared for, even loved, there, as did I. We felt so fortunate to have this advanced specialty here where I live and could be involved in her care and comfort. There are no words for what that means to a patient and her family. Thank you, Zimmer Cancer Center. Please continue to fight hard and well.
