Lauren Richey Review of Green Mountain at Fox Run
BEST DECISION I EVER MADE
BEST DECISION I EVER MADE
If you are considering it, just go. It will be the best decision you make as well. I have now been home from my stay at Green Mountain at Fox Run for about six weeks and I feel like I am still talking about it non-stop. It was the most enlightening two weeks I have ever spent. The classes range from eating behaviors to stress reduction to cultivating gratitude and self-compassion. I walked away with a greater understanding of myself, why I make some of the eating and lifestyle choices I have made in the past, and with a sense of freedom that I have never felt before in relation to my body. The classes on body neutrality (body image) were enlightening and inspiring to help me change the way I view myself. I told my friends and family when I returned that I wished everyone could go to Green Mountain, it was that life-changing for me.
I thought the food was excellent, some days were naturally better than others, but I was never greatly disappointed. I am not a picky eater, nor do I have any dietary restrictions so the variety was great. I often found myself asking the head chef for recipes. You also get dessert a few times a week!
The exercise classes were some of my favorite moments, I think I went to nearly every class offered because I wanted to get the entire spectrum of body movement. Some of my favorite classes offered were the dance classes: belly dance, Zumba, and a mixed class of line dances being my favorite. Other activities included hikes or paddle boarding on a nearby lake as well as a variety of circuit classes like Tabata. There are always multiple choices for each movement times available so there is a variety of choice for every level. I thought there was such a great variety of choices that it was always exciting to try new activities.
