I had nothing but an extremely pleasant experience...

I had nothing but an extremely pleasant experience at the NEAS! The staff was very friendly. I went in inquiring about a chihuahua that was a couple years old. When I asked about him at the desk, they let me know that he didn't do well with children. Although I don't have children of my own, I would not put my niece and nephews in danger.
I continued to look around the shelter and found the sweetest little girl who had just come back from a foster family that had adopted her sister and brought her back to the shelter. She was very timid, and although it took her some time to come out of her cage, we have been inseparable since that moment. She has brought more joy into my life than anything else possibly could.
The staff asked a ton of questions, and was cautious about where the pet would be living and how long she would be left alone, etc. People need to understand that this is their job. They are trained to make the best fit for the animal and the owner. Please be understanding, as there are so many volunteers that make the NEAS a wonderful environment for those animals. If you are told that an animal is not the best fit for you and your lifestyle, wait....go back and look in a week....guaranteed you will fall in love with another precious animal that needs a loving home.
Thank you NEAS for my precious lil Bella girl! Life wouldn't be the same without her.
