I had applied for a loan at a bank and was offered 2 ways to appraise my house value. 1, was 125.00 and they come out and take a picture and then appraise it. The other one cost more and they come in the house and actually figure out the value. I had my house appraised about 8 years ago at 110,000 by the same bank, so I thought there shouldn't be a problem with this type of appraisal. Was I completely wrong. The appraisal came back as 41,000. So, my advise is to pay the extra money and get a good appraiser to do it, not some company that uses figures like square footage and the area to appraise your house. So now, to get the loan I have to pay for the second appraisal wasting 125.00 on this companies "figured" "statistics" appraisal. I wasted 125.00 and I'm not happy!!!!
