Ok....where do I start? Let me first say thank you to Mr. Robbin for displaying hospitality I was expecting, #1 because that's what hotel staff are supposed to do, and #2 it's the city of brotherly love right? He focused his attention on the guest he was speaking to at that time, and was always positive when I saw him. As far as the rest of my experience at this particular hotel...I will NOT be staying there again. Dirty shower, unchanged sheets, and unresponsive staff. The first night was fine because I didn't know what I was getting into. I did however notice that the shower floor was dirty. You know, the kind of dirt that accumulates after a week of use. It appears as though it had not been clean. I left a note for housekeeping asking if they could scrub it with bleach (OR SOMETHING). The trash cans did not have liners inside - so I used my own bags from store purchases, and were left on top of the toilet and desks. In trying to keep my check luggage under the max weight I did not bring my own towels - big mistake and yes I realize bringing your own towels is hotel stay 101. The towels were rough like SOS pads and had hair embedded in them. And on the second to last night I was there, they didn't replace any towels - although I placed them on the floor as the instructions requested. I can only imagine what lived in the carpet so it was socks - which I wore anyway - from there on out. One day when I arrived back to my room after being out for several hours in the morning and afternoon, I returned to my hotel door being ajar. Not open because we know the room doors will close on their own, but the lock had been manually placed in position that prevented the door from closing. Prior to finding my room like that I passed two female housekeeping staff in the hall who were quickly making their way down the hall opposite of my room. When I mentioned this to the hotel staff downstairs, their response was pretty nonchalant. It was like "oh yeah they should make sure the doors are closed when they're done...crickets...". I kept my suitcase locked in my absence anyway because after the first night I just felt I needed to. So if their intentions were theft, they came up empty handed. My experience actually started with the reservation agent before I travelled. She responded to my questions as if I was bothering her, and travelled every week and should have known the answers to my questions. I always speak with a smile on my face over the phone and in person so in no way was I rude. So long rating short, find another hotel. I was very dissatisfied with my stay in the end. Hotel management ANYWHERE, please realize that your cleaning practices are the difference between fostering, causing or preventing diseases. Too many people of various hygiene habits pass through and it's important to keep the hotel as clean as possible. Lastly, there were two other hotel staff I wish I had encountered at the beginning, and that was the young lady who checked me out, and one of the bistro employee's serving the breakfast buffet shift. They were very pleasant to encounter which at that point was foreign for that hotel.
