I am an alumni of the Progress Program. I joined because I wanted to learn how to effectively manage my finances and the debt matching program was definitely an incentive. During the program I asked many times if I would still be eligible for the reward program if my debt had increased and I was told yes by both the director (Satori Bailey) and (Lorena Gonzalez). I was told that as long as I had proof that I was paying down debt, I would still be eligible. Long story short, when the evaluation period came....I was told by the the director, Satori Bailey, that I was ineligible for the reward. This definitely spoiled my experience in the program. I traveled from the south suburbs to attend, paid for parking and made sacrifices to be in this program.Seemingly this issue added to the problem that I was trying to overcome. I'm not sure if the communication wasn't clear, or if the questions that I asked were not clear enough but this could have been avoided if I was told the correct answer from the beginning! All in all, I am very disappointed with my experience with the Center for Economic Progress...I can only hope that what happened to me does not happen to anyone else that joins this program.
