I booked a room at this hotel in February 2020, for one night (6-7/08). Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 my flight was canceled and I had to cancel my trip. I did so on April 24th. The cancellation confirmation email said that I would get a refund within 30 days.
At the beginning of June, no refund had been processed. I therefore called the guest assistance on June 6th and I was told my account was about to be credited. On June 16th, still no refund. I called a second time and the guest assistance gave me a few email adresses to get in touch with. I emailed them all and was told that the hotel operations have been suspended until June 29, and that I had to wait. I was asked to wait and to contact them again at the beginning of July. In July, still no refund. I called AGAIN guest assistance TWICE since then who keeps telling me that I should get a refund within a few days.
We are now July 13th - almost three months post cancellation !!!!!! - and I still did not get any refund. I find it unacceptable that a hotel such as the Waldorf Astoria is unable to refund a ONE NIGHT STAY ! I booked 3 nights at Encore Hotel and got a refund 3 days after cancelling my stay, same thing for the 7 other hotel reservations I had to cancel.
I now expect a refund within 10 days otherwise I will be forced to file a complaint. Rebecca Child s
