Familiarity with the SLS Beverly Hills -- and nost...

Familiarity with the SLS Beverly Hills -- and nostalgia over this Sahara corner of Vegas -- made me curious enough to visit during opening week, become a "Code" member, and return with the youngsters. I like it. I like having access to Fred Segal. I like the stylish rooms (they have King beds and rooms with double beds - why, I don't know). There's a cool infinity mirror installation in the rooms which makes makes me want to return on a romantic interlude. There's quirky painting details, monkeys and body parts, a la Philippe Starck throughout. The palette is a refreshing alternative to colorful Vegas. The small scale lobby is charming (it takes far too long to check in, however). It's a likable place.
