Tip 1: The street metered parking is free on Sundays and a much closer walk.

Tip 2: You get a $25 discount off of any membership price with your military or dependent ID (I didn't see this anywhere on the website).

Tip 3: If you don't have a military ID but have a Charleston County Parks Gold Pass you can get $15 off of any membership price.

Tip 4: Bring Your Own water bottle to refill at the bottle/water fountain and your own snacks to eat in the eating area or purchase at the snack bar (mini personal pizzas, parfait sandwiches). We spent 5 hours at the aquarium.

The interactive exhibits (waterworks, robotic crab/fish/crane, and airflow ducts) were a hit with our kids and we easily spent 1/3 of our time their alone. There is also a toddler play area, touch tanks, stingray touch tank, and various kid friendly stuff to climb on or do sprinkled throughout. The deepest tank in North America was absolutely mesmerizing and easily the favorite to sit and watch. There is a small snack bar and a nursing room just around the corner from the bathrooms (which our somewhat OCD child commented were nice and clean so that's a HUGE bonus). The staff were absolutely wonderful and the kids had a great first aquarium experience. The membership is a great deal of you plan to go twice! For our part the kids want to go back every week.
