I guess seeing the other reviews I was lucky not once but two times over. I think both my grandmothers were probably some of their longest residents until the day of their deaths. I am not exactly sure of each one to the day but Grandma #1 was defiantly there for over 18 Closing in on 19 yrs a resident and Grandma #2 for over 12 yrs. While my dad , sisters and I would each take a turn visiting both throughout the week (also my dad who lived in Bellmore the closest would once a week make a surprise run with a goodie at night for them) and we would all go one the weekends for a lunch or dinner to share but we had read in any facility where a patient doesn t have a voice we have to become that voice for them. So we kept this up for them in their honor for all the years they cared for us. If any one of us was able to financially or physically be able to do or have this care in our homes we would have. But with that being said only one time my non verbal (#1) had bruising which my dad received a phone call about prior to his coming up to let him know when she was turned to be wiped she was fighting them so they had no choice but to tie her one wrist to the bed to be able to proceed. The Verbal #2 said in her Irish witty way they know better than to start with me. LOL I am sorry that the others didnt have the experiences that we were so blessed to have had . Maybe being pro active helped. Who kno
