I didn t go through treatment at a Better Today but my daughters father my ex did. It was hard to agree to let them go to the family therapy because of some incidents when he was drunk that were traumatic for them. But it turned out to be the best thing for them and him. Their dad is actually rebuilding a relationship with the girls and they are so hopeful and happy after a session. Plus, their dad has been getting out and hiking with his friends. He said he learned about nutrition and strength training and how it helps him stay sober. But it has given him the energy to spend time with the girls too. They re used to watching tv while they visit him and now they go to the park and to the trampoline jumping place. It s like A Better Today gave them their dad back. It has been a journey as their mother but the girls deserve their dad. He has been sober for about 4 months now and he has moved into their new sober living program. With that much support around him and for a longer period of time, I think he has all the tools he needs to continue with this sober lifestyle. He has been going to 12 step meetings regularly and has a sponsor. He paid some child support for the first time in a long time because he finally stayed at the same job long enough to get a paycheck. He couldn t have done it without A Better Today.
