Quite interesting that according to IRS guidelines, nonprofit hospitals, such as St. Charles, are required to offer financial assistance programs! I m still paying on my ex s appendectomy from May 2008! He s a Veteran and neither of us were offered an assistance program! I was paying $30 a month this year because I m on disability and they had garnished my disability! They garnished his VA student loans! We re still left with a bill of over $4k! When I tried to renew my $30 a month payment with PCS, I was told that St. Charles was now demanding $130+ a month. Thank you so very much!
