Great instruction and great people! I have been at TAG for over a year and a half now, and the experience has been fantastic; classes are one of my favorite parts of the week! Kru Chris has the skills and pedigree and does a great job of teaching the techniques.

Phase 1 classes generally consist of some pad work and partner drills, along with controlled play sparring to put skills into practice. Throughout, Kru Chris and assistant instructors are helping correct form, iron out technique, etc. Phase 2 (for more advanced students) works on more advanced techniques and strategies, plus more rigorous sparring. On Saturdays, there is a ring class (my favorite) that is a little longer and focuses on ring awareness and techniques, and often allows more time for some in-depth work on specific aspects. Additionally, it gives some opportunities for sparring with a ring.

One of the best aspects of TAG is the group of people you train with! Egos are left at the door and everyone is committed to learning and improving with one another. The classes run the gamut in terms of age and gender, so you don't have to worry about the macho shunning that some martial arts gyms end up doing. Everyone is welcoming, and I really feel like I've made a lot of good friends in addition to good training partners.

If you're looking to become a fighter, learn self-defense, or just get a good workout, you will find what you're looking for.
