Dined for my husbands 40th birthday. Service was slow and food pacing was horrible...experienced long waits in between courses. Food was lackluster and seasoned poorly. Dinner start to finish lasted 3 hours. All the Fish dishes were all under seasoned and meat dishes were over seasoned. My husband and I each had an appetizer, shared a pasta dish, and had meat entrees along with scoop of ice cream.

Our starters we had fig Pizza, which had no taste except for strong cheese (I belived it was gouda). We also had the scallops which were cooked perfectly but accompanied by a cold pumpkin puree which also had no taste aside from a strong acid flavor.

For our second we shared the mushroom pasta, which was delicious. Extremely small portion for 28 pounds (probably 5 bites in whole dish) However was most tasty thing we had all night.

For our third we had the lamb. The meat itself was cooked perfectly however extremely salty. The accompaniments were over seasoned and bitter. We also had the fish...which I was surprised had a huge bone running through it served with grilled artichoke....Artichokes tasted like they came straight out of a can. The whole dish was bland and oily...not to mention having to pick bones out of my mouth every few bites.

Lastly we had the ice cream....I have never had Ice cream with no taste but River Cafe mastered the icecream with no taste.

300 pounds later.. I would never go back nor recommend.
