Only visited but I m really impressed with how this shelter is operated. After reading some bad reviews, I felt compelled to write how I love that this shelter is so thorough and doesn t just adopt any pet to anyone who wants one. Seems lots of people who wrote scathing reviews were just unhappy that they couldn t just take home any pet they wanted right away and had no regard for the animal and was more concerned with what they wanted. Unfortunate indeed. I applaud the shelter for not allowing these kinds of adoptions and for really caring about their animals wellbeing despite so many needing homes. In my opinion, if someone isn t willing to have the patience to wait, or have multiple visits and just impulsively wants to adopt, then they really have no business adopting. I also really appreciate that they limit the number of people walking through the kennels, I could tell it really helps the animals comfort to do this as they were all very calm and relaxed. I ve walked through shelters where the dogs and cats are incredibly aggressive, afraid and very upset. This is one of the quietest shelters I ve ever been in. It made me so happy to see how these animals are ALL so well cared for. The shelter was clean, bright, spacious and the staff was courteous and professional. Excited to hopefully one day adopt a hypoallergenic dog from this shelter when the time is right. Unfortunately allergies and a move in the next year or two are a factor otherwise there are many wonderful dogs and I would be lucky to be able to be a mommy to any of them :)
