Very AWFUL. The animals all looked very miserable. we missed the beginning of the tour and were dropped into the middle of the tour. we followed the crowd and came across Joe, the "tiger king" holding a caiman BY ITS NECK. Literally looked like he was strangling the poor animal. people would line up and take photos with the caiman. when it was handed back, he'd grab it by the neck and just hold it there. dangling. that was my first red flag.
next we went into the "wolf cage" where two hybrids live. they're half siberian husky and half wolf. some of the other hybrids were half wolf and half blue heeler.
the place is very very shady. they have armed guards standing at each cage always watching you. first off, why do you need guards with guns?
saw tigers limping around. cages were filthy and muddy. cluttered with various objects.
you're also not allowed to take photos on your phone. they make a silly excuse about it scares the animals. first off, you have a guy following the crowd around who is taking pictures so why can't you? his camera makes noise! so it's okay for them to do it but we can't ? and another guy who is constantly filming you.
at the end of the tour, we all sat around and they brought out 3 snakes and 2 skunks and turtles. the handlers had no idea how to hold the animals. the handlers were.being ordered to make an assembly line and wrap the snakes around people despite their objections. the snakes eventually got agitated and hissed at people. one of the handlers tried to tell Joe that the snake was hissing but he ignored him and DEMANDED that he put the snake around the person. at this point I felt extremely uncomfortable. the snakes also started getting cold. the next handler who was carrying a skunk was giving me a skunk to hold and told me to be gentle with him. Joe was standing behind me and said "you don't need to be gentle with it
it's a damn skunk!" one of the handlers tried returning the animals to their cages but Joe demanded them to bring them back out for photos. the skunks got agitated as well and started biting the handlers. another one of the handlers put pythons around children's necks and left them. it was extremely scary. the handlers would talk amongst themselves and I heard another python has broken ribs and wasn't allowed to be touched and it just sat in the cage.
then they brought the laligers (off spring of a liger and a tiger) out. they were 8 weeks old. one of the ligers just laid down on the ground and one the handlers picked him up and tried to get him to move around and the liger got angry and growled. they pushed them around to make them active. their bragging point was that there are 11 laligers in the world and they have 7 of them but that's not a bragging point because they offer zero conservational value.
if you want to increase the numbers of endangered tigers, you don't go and make it mate with a liger!
Joe barks orders at his employees and they swear a lot and even the employees themselves seem unhappy.
