I was heading from Riyadh to Hofuf for the first time using train. Riyadh railway station was very neat and clean and in Hofuf there were some construction works going on. I booked my tickets a couple of days before through their application which can be found in both App Store and google play, search for SRO and book the tickets ahead as it could run out of tickets very soon specially during this COVID seasons as they always leave the seat next to you empty as a protective measure.

Be at least 15-20 minutes before the departure time at the correct terminal

Train tickets were very much affordable and cheap, I had to travel using second class, first class was full and there were no seats available, there was a guy passing twice the entire journey selling cold and hot beverages and some snacks.

Overall it was a good experience
