When we arrived, we arrived late and wanted to pass on the courtesy that we were arriving so late and their telephone systems were not working, leaving us uncertain as to whether someone would be there to even greet us. Upon arrival, the hotel wanted us to write down our card details long card number, sort code and security code on the back. There doesn't appear to be a data protection policy in place on what is done with this information and the information is stored on your booking form, available to their staff. I was double charged and am left in disbelief as to how difficult the process was to get my refund. I left voicemails which were not returned and phoned every 30 mins in anticipation the phone may be soon answered. The only way I got through was by calling the restaurant staff and getting them to hold the line for me. To make things even more difficult, they didn't have the common decency to check up on your own mistakes and I had to do all the leg work to correct them. Very unhelpful customer service!
