Shane Y Review of Wild Waves Theme Park

Had a great time here. A couple of bumps but that's to be expected when you're in a place filled with tons of other people. Came with some friends to try and beat the heat, and wasn't expecting much (as I'm so used to big theme parks, being from an area where we had many larger parks easily accessible to us) but was pleasantly surprised. All of the staff I ran into that day were friendly, regardless of if they were life guards, concession/food staff, ride workers, even the inspector and a ride operator had a nice little conversation with a friend and myself while we were waiting for the rest of our party who was on a ride.
Security at the entrance could be a little more consistent. My bag was looked through which is fine, while others just walked through with a quick peek in or no look at all. Was told no outside food/drink (which is understandable), while people were walking in with drinks and food clearly brought from home (giant bags of chips, refillable drink bottles, boxes of cookies/crackers, etc.) with nothing being said. It's not the rules that threw me off, just the massive inconsistencies.
Prices are pretty high but that's to be expected with a theme park, whether it's stuff from the gift shop or food/drink from a vendor or restaurant.
The restrooms in the main part of the water park (to the right of the wave pool area) are decently sized, but it would be nice if there was a changing-specific area so you aren't trying to change in a tiny bathroom stall, or taking up a bathroom stall from someone who needs it. But overall a lot cleaner than I tend to expect from theme parks!
Lots of life guards on duty in the water park, which is great. However, had an issue two separate times in two different areas (the lazy river and the wave pool) with younger children hitting/kicking us while in the water - children young enough that they honestly should have been under the supervision of an adult (that's not the park's fault of course!), who were by themselves.
The wave pool seemed to be experiencing problems, with waves being barely anything, but I also see in previous replies that that is a technical issue that is being looked into as well, which is great! I hope to experience the wave pool when it's at its 100% in the future.
Love the rental lockers - even with the smallest locker I could fit a regular sized backpack that had a change of clothes, a towel, and some other stuff in it (basically nearly full) - they're deeper than you expect them to be. I want to say it was around $10 for a standard locker, which is honestly not that bad of a price for a place to store your stuff if you're planning on sticking around all day.
Around a couple of concession stands there did seem to be a lot of bees, and I felt bad for the workers who were trying to serve food while waving them away constantly. Though I see in other replies to reviews that the park is working on getting them taken care of, which is great. I only noticed them around concession stands (notably the Dippin' Dots stand), but the rest of the park was bee-free.
Witnessed a non-physical dispute (for lack of a better word) between security, police, and a visitor. Not 100% sure what was going on as I was trying to steer clear for the most part and only heard tidbits from the yelling guest, but staff present seemed to be keeping their composure pretty well and dealt with the situation while keeping it as down-low as they possibly could.
The fudge from the candy store is great as well! Lots of flavors to choose from. The girls working that day (Aug 7th) were super friendly and wonderful, too!
Nothing SUPER stands out about this place in particular (positive or negative) - a pretty standard experience through and through, but I did have a good time and will more than likely be returning in the coming summers!
