We usually stay at Marriott hotels and we have always enjoyed our stay up until this experience. We arrived and had to park across the street and wait a 1/2 hour for the valet service to move the cars in front of the hotel. We actually didn't mind the wait but we minded how the manager explained it to us in a rude and snappy way. We checked out the room and it had a strong chemical smell. The man who was booking the rooms, who was very nice, let us look at 2 more rooms. Each room had the strong chemical smell with an additional strong smell of cologne or air freshener. We told him we could not stay at this hotel as the smell affected our allergies. He understood but then the manager ran up and said that we still had to pay for the room. I told him we were still going to stay elsewhere as our health was more important that a room fee. They still charged us. We stayed at another hotel that was in Central Park that was $70 cheaper with a much bigger room with and with no chemical smell.
