It's a pub - that's about it (for good and for bad).
The drinks aren't particularly expensive, but aren't inexpensive either.
The variety is about as bog-standard as you can get this side of Weatherspoons.
The atmosphere is, well, that of a pub.
The food is pub fare, and perfectly acceptable.
In short, it's, well, a pub (albeit one with all the shlock you'd expect on the walls of anything this close to the Castle)
The bottom line - there's other/better stuff around, but if you end up here, it won't suck...
