Process improvement suggestion: the airport recently installed a self-checkout service on arrival. You select a language on a very large touchscreen, then scan your passport, then take a picture of yourself, then prints the picture and your passport details on a piece of paper that you hand to a security officer. This process is not secure, its wasteful, and hazardous. Not secure because the security officer may not accurately check if the badly printed pictured person matches that on the passport. Wasteful because of all the unnecessary printing paper. Hazardous because of the touchscreen that ALL arriving passengers need to touch therefore spreading germs and bacteria.
All these problems are already solved at other European airports. I'm surprised how the recent security upgrade at Larnaca airport has managed to miss the mark so easily!
