I was part of a Cuddle Session at my company where puppies are brought in to play in the hopes of being adopted. I had put in an application for a puppy as we had spent over an hour together and myself and the volunteers agreed, she had chosen me; it was instant love. I asked about the process and if I was able to take her that day. At that time I was not aware they were not staff and had no decision making power. They told me that I needed to go through the formal application process. I asked if I could adopt her that day and they said not to worry and she was secure. They told me she was "my dog" and told other members of my company the same AND fielded other applications for her. She was adopted yesterday at 4 PM by someone else.

I personally feel as though there was a complete disregard for my application and my interest and true love for this dog. I had to call to get an update that she had been given to someone else. If the volunteers sent are not equipped to complete an adoption then they should not be present. It is one of the most unprofessional and devastating experiences I have been through. Many people know a connection to an animal is special and when it is real you know. I knew. I was not afforded the opportunity to provide a home to an animal I know was meant for me and for that I will never adopt an animal from this shelter.
