i read the calendar of events and arrived for 'roving' tour and was undisappointed to discover i was the only guest. my guide immediately informed me that it'd been awhile since he did this and he did not know what i was hoping to learn from the walk, scheduled 1:30-3:15. i thought he was being self-deprecating but no. instead he recommended my watching an 18 minute video. big beef: boardwalk filthy with cypress needles. info-signage dirty with sap. 4-5 adults standing around in uniforms not sweeping. i am bringing my own broom today. a woman kindly informed me of the difference between guided and roving walk/tour. not sure whether i could've learned that important distinction from website. disappointed.
