Christina Saintz Review of Olive and Ivy

I made a reservation at Olive & Ivy two weeks in advance on Open Table to be seated on the patio for dinner while my family was in town from Ohio visiting me for my birthday. When I arrived at the restaurant to check in at the hostess stand I was told, very rudely, that my reservation had been moved inside, and they would not accommodate my patio reservation (again, made 2 weeks in advance). I was told that they had called me, (they did not), to explain that call in reservations take precedence over Open Table reservations. I was told that if I would like to sit on the patio it would be a 2.5 hour wait. The two young women at the hostess stand were rude, aggressive, and unapologetic. I decided to cancel my reservation and leave. On my way out, the manager, Joel, caught me leaving. He apologized and confirmed that no one had in fact called me to tell me that they were not going to honor my reservation. Joel then offered to sit my party (of 6) at a table inside and we said okay because we were already there and were hungry. The hostess stomped over and threw menus at us without saying a word. Needless to say, we left, and will not be returning. I am amazed at the treatment we received. I have never had a more disappointing experience. Using Open Table has never been an issue and I would caution anyone against going to Olive & Ivy.
