In this hotel we had one of the nicest vacations we have made so far. As already mentioned, the hotel is huge, and it is set up like an independent small village. Because it is so large and has so many restaurants and pools, it is never overcrowded and everything is spread out very nicely. All employees were friendly and very accommodating. No matter what your concern was, you always tried to find a solution or to help. What we also found very good was that the hotel values sustainability. There are no paper cups or small plastic cups and the straws are also compostable. The products that are used in the restaurants are for the most part all sourced from regional cultivation and production.
The hotel is also very child-friendly and family-oriented, but also very suitable for disabled people.
There are extra sun loungers that are kept free for disabled people, but there are also extra wheelchairs and floating loungers so that physically impaired people can go into the water. The hotel received an award for the cleanest beach for the second year running in 2019.
The beach is really very, very nice and clean. As everywhere in Crete, there are sometimes a few rocks when entering the water, but this is not a problem with bathing shoes. Snorkeling is also worthwhile, you discover more fishermen under water than you think.
There is no cheap booze offered for alcohol either, but branded alcohol is used, which I also found very good. The adjacent place is nothing for us personally. Everything is relatively tourist-typical with lots of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. In the hotel, however, you don't notice anything and the hotel offers a different, very, very nice and successful animation show for young and old every evening. But if you want to party in the evening, this is the right place. But there was nothing for me to go shopping, so I recommend getting in the car and going to Rethymno, for example. Then you get to see a really beautiful Greek city, unfortunately you won't find that at the local hotel.
Furthermore it should be mentioned that in this hotel one does not get involved in any sales talks. You know that from Arab countries that is very annoying when you lie on the beach or at the pool and you are constantly asked whether you want to buy something. That is not the case here! Here you can really lie in peace.

The rooms in the hotel were very spacious, the entire hotel was renovated and modernized in 2016. The rooms were clean and very, very nice and tastefully decorated. The maids came every day and did a great job.
You don't have to be afraid in this hotel because of certain nationalities who like to misbehave during their vacation. As for food and drink, for example. You won't find this here. At no time did anyone behave conspicuously wrong and everything was decent and decent.
We were there in the first two weeks of September, the temperature was very, very pleasant and ideal for swimming and sunbathing. I can only recommend everyone to come here, even if it is a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it.
