A TRIBUTE

A TRIBUTE
THE NURSE

To look after her patients
She walks and runs mile after mile
Day after day.
She studies and memorize
Every patient file.
Information stored
By her powerful brain
Would run a list
Measuring over one mile.
Most times, her tasks
Demand great mental power.
Other chores demand
Physical power.
Responsible to administer medication
A minor error would put her on trial.
Whether looking after Mahmoud, Robert or Sher
She always delivers with love and care.
Bodies are washed, Bumps are wiped
Clean floors must be kept.
No human can do all the work she does
She makes you wonder if you have been cared for
By a wizard of the Nile.
The tough work, the heavy lifting
Is left to her
While, we are enjoying
A life of glamour and style.
See her clean stool and blood of the floor
Watch her scrub its every tile
Change dirty sheets
Draw blood vile after vile.
Until you do her work
smiling all the while.
Pal, complain not to me
About your crummy job.
So, please, turn down
The whining dial.
