I do not recommend the Dolan Homes. Yes, the facilities are more homelike than most senior care facilities, and the daily staff very caring. The problem is the staff doctor who Dolan uses exhibited very questionable conduct in connection with my friend, a resident there. Basically, the physician failed to treat for over two weeks a severly swollen foot and, during the same period, did not prescribe the proper antibiotics for a urinary tract infection. Even though it was obvious that my friend was declining rapidly, the doctor refused to admit my friend to the hospital until it was basically "over". Her family and I, and the staff at the home, protested that she should have been admitted much sooner, to no avail. Basically, it appears to me, that my friend entered the home in excellent physical condition and within about three months was dead from a common infection.
