We were looking forward to this vacation and it was really nice days on the Danube.

Nevertheless, I was disappointed with the services provided by Augustus Tours. I had my e-bike with me and wanted to rent one for my daughter. I had booked from 1st to 5th September. - Without going into that, I was booked the standard service: 3 days of cycling during the tour. My special request (to use my bike one day before and after the trip, too) was not answered with a single word. It would have been nice to ride around Regensburg and Passau together during the rest days without cycling Hotel where my booked bike stays. The hotel asked and I received the information. Austria Tours takes over the service of Augustus Tours and there are only bikes on the bike days ... Done. I would have paid 2 days longer, but without a message I don't find it customer-oriented.

The choice of hotels was good. Mostly central to very central, clean rooms, good breakfast. The luggage transport went smoothly.

What I had imagined differently from a company that mediates bike tours: we were given a book for the tour, in which the route is described. A book that you can buy in any bookstore. Unfortunately, the Danube Cycle Path was closed on some sections of the route. The diversion was signposted. But if I had known about it, we would have been able to start on the other side of the Danube bank in the morning and not have to cycle along the dusty detour leading along busy roads. I would have expected a bike tour operator to put together individual route sections for me, which, for example, show such diversions, perhaps an alternative route, a beer garden insider tip or something similar. There was a printed tour description. But only the way from the hotel to the starting point of the day trip was described. And that wasn't quite right twice and cost us a search.

I have calculated the room prices. If I had booked the same hotels directly and bought this cycling map, I would have been 300 euros cheaper. I think that around 300 euros for luggage transport and the booking fee is a decent amount.

Conclusion: nice days, but that was less due to Augustus Tours, but because it is a wonderful route, great cities lie in between and the weather was great.
