I served as the caregiver for my brother, Wilkerso...

I served as the caregiver for my brother, Wilkerson, who was housed at Forest Hill Nursing Center in Jackson, Mississippi for about five years. Because I lived in another state, I was not able to visit the nursing center regularly to discern the actual care of my brother. However, after my brother passed away in the hospital, I was able to see the full inadequacy, incompetence, and non-professionalism of this nursing home. When my brother passed away, I received no call from the manager, expressing any kind of expression of sympathy. I had to locate the body and have it transferred to the appropriate place. But the Center really showed its incompetence when I contacted the business manager at Forest Hill about the funds in my brother's account. Although I was told by a staff member that I would received the funds thirty day after my brother's death, it took the incompetent business manager three (3) months to tell me that part of the money had to be returned to Social Security. There was a remaining several hundred dollars that she would cut a check and send to me within the week. That was more than two months ago. I called the business manager several times and should would promise to put the check for the several hundred dollars in the mail. THEN SHE STOPPED TAKING MY CALL! This whole experience has left me revisiting my earlier assessment of how my brother was actually treated at Forest Hill, especially if it is anything like the way I have been treated by the manager and the business manager after his death.
