By far, one of the best, and most romantic boutique hotel, in the world!
[Far superior to Witchery by the Castle, which has nice rooms, but no hotel common areas (such as lobby, salons, bar, etc) whatsoever.]

The level and attention to details at the Prestonfield is overwhelming.
The discovery of each salon is a thrill and an adventure on its own.
Your eyes tirelessly wandering from objects to objects, circling into the room again and again. Even the powder room is a surprise!

Another huge plus: the suites are actually 2 rooms combined, and therefore have 2 bathrooms. So, total luxury and comfort.

Rhubarb restaurant is also by far the most beautiful and romantic of Edinburgh. [Witchery by the Castle has low ceilings, and feel cramped, in comparison]. Breakfasts are served at the Rhubarb restaurant.

There is also salon Prive, a dinner room for 2. Although the thought of a private dinner seems appealing and mysterious, the room being so tiny actually feels awkward and somehow uncomfortable. There is no possible way to get up and move around, once you are seated. Also, there is no way to signal the waiter, if you need their attention. This room is also in desperate need of a better music system, and have a romantic playlist prepared. They were using an old CD player with the worst un-romantic symphony music. We eventually turned it off.

That being said, the hotel overall is a true gem, and a destination on its own.
