First off, the staff is top notch. Everyone was very friendly, kind, helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately the actual property itself is just so old and outdated that there are inherent problems of which even the best staff cannot fix. Our room, for example, had very old carpets (stained in many places), issues with ceiling (cracking, peeling, etc), fixtures likely original from late 80s, outdated furnishings, etc. Even the parking lot, of which we had to pay $20/day was in bad condition...and the exit gate was open the entire time.
Nothing was open, but that's just the pandemic. However the restaurants, bar, arcade area looked like lost relics from days gone by.
Again, none of this is on the staff. I'm sure they do their best, given the circumstances, but this hotel just needs a full renovation or overhaul.
The open concept (popular in late 80s) means you can hear everyone talking at all hours in the open atrium. And yes, there are many sirens from the nearby fire station and hospital.
Not sure why Hilton keeps this one going, given it's condition, but hopefully they will consider some updates soon.
