Beautiful house and setting. The gallery itself was very intimate and well layed out. You can walk through each of the numbered rooms that take you through groupings of very famous paintings by theme or artist or subject. Of course, most people go to see Vermeer's 'Girl with the Pearl Earring' but the museum houses some spectacular Dutch artists and their portraits, landscape paintings and still-lifes. Truly a wonderfully quiet and gorgeously decorated museum. I spent 2-3hrs walking through each room but you could just as easily walk through the entire place in under an hour. There are only 2 floors of galleries so bear in mind that it is a lot smaller than perhaps you might be used to thinking.

I recommend the bistro for a quick pick-me-up or just as lovely a place for dinner as any. The staff are all very friendly and speak perfect English. Ticketing is best done online (around 15 for an adult ticket) so you can just walk in a scan your ticket from your phone. Alternatively, the front desk is also very helpful and can answer all your questions or assist you in any way they can.

Just a quick note: the entrance is a little inconspicuous because you have to go down some stairs from the front gates. If in doubt, just ask the security officer at the museum front. Once you descend the steps, you'll come out onto a lovely glass-fronted lobby where you'll see the front desk and gallery entrance.

11/10 would recommend and a must-visit while in Den Haag.
