Long time patient - 20 years. Doctors and staff here are the best. Dr. Ortiz is my doctor. He's fantastic. Dr. Ortiz' education and experience is extensive. A Las Vegas native, it's great to see a doctor practicing in his home town. I get great care from Dr. Ortiz and Wellish Vision staff. I've never had a problem with my insurance or billing in the 20 years I've been coming here. Although a long time patient, my official diagnosis is not glaucoma. I have been on a glaucoma "watch list" for awhile now, getting tests and scans several times per year. My family history for glaucoma is extensive: Mom had glaucoma and went blind; one sister has had it for 30 years and is almost blind; younger sister was diagnosed about 6 months ago and has already had surgery on her eyes. So I was worried when my pressures went up suddenly last year and my vision had also deteriorated a little. At my appointment, Dr. Ortiz explained the results of the tests and scans on my eyes, showing me exactly what was happening and a good course to take. The results showed that it was time to begin taking drops as a preventative to help preserve my vision as long as possible. Long story short, I have faith in Dr. Ortiz and myself to manage my eye care, no matter what happens. And yes, the wait times can be long! They have huge TVs, a nice lobby and waiting areas, plenty of seating, even coffee if you like! So if you have a family history of glaucoma, don't wait. Go to Wellish!
